Dr. Rachel Illingworth has had a long term association with Acorn Animal Hospital beginning in 1995 when the facility was originally located on Mill Street. Growing up on a dairy farm in Nova Scotia developed her strong interest in animals. She graduated in 1993 from The Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada and pursued part of her formal veterinary education at the University of California, Davis and The Animal Medical Center in New York City. She is a member of both the American and Canadian Veterinary Medical Associations. In addition to attending to the many animals with fur including cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits and other rodents, she will also attend to those pets with scales and feathers. When not traveling with her best companion, an adorable yorkie named Dusty, she can be found hitting golf balls in many directions or digging in the garden.
